Job Title: Business Analyst
Role type: Fixed Term, full time through to June 2025

Salary range: $74,964 to $99,968 depending on skills and experience
Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
We are looking for a Business Analyst to support MPI's Future of Certification Programme through to the end of June 2025, which partners with Deloitte to deliver a modernised, digital certification system that will replace several existing legacy systems.
The primary focus in this role is to contribute high-quality analysis, design, and delivery to enable and support configuration, transition to system users, continuous improvement, and business support of the MPI Trade Certification system.
Key focus areas will be
- Requirements analysis
- configuration of the system to meet the variation in market requirements
- transition of MPI staff, industry users and other parties to the system, and
- business support (including process and procedure documentation)
You will work closely alongside New Zealand Food Safety, business implementation teams and IT vendors to understand system requirements, features, and the data of the current system. This will assist you with the analysis and configuration of the new system to support fit for purpose delivery.

We're looking for someone who has a solid understanding of analysis frameworks and can demonstrate technical competency, customer relationship management, and/or business analysis.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and elicit requirements
- Proven problem solving, synthesis and analytical skills and experience.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy at a detailed level, while maintaining an understanding of the bigger picture
- Strong analytical thinking skills; able to make connections beyond the immediate issue
- The ability to work in a highly collaborative way with a facilitative working style
- Active listener and participator
- Sound relationship management skills

We are a close-knit programme team who has partnered with Deloitte to deliver the MPI Trade Certification system. The programme covers all facets of people, process and technology and we are currently in the early stages of our Delivery phase. The role is expected to run through to June 2025.
