Business Analyst - Billings and Collections
2 Year Fixed Term Contract
Location: Dublin 18, Cherrywood, hybrid working
Aviva Ireland General Insurance are looking for a talented and experienced individual to join the project team for one the company’s key strategic initiatives. You must have experience as a Business Analyst working in the Insurance and/or Finance industry, for a minimum of three years. The role is based in Cherrywood, Dublin office with hybrid working available.

A bit about the job:
You’ll be performing a Business Analyst role within a large project team, delivering multiple initiatives from ideation to deployment. The project is focussed on delivering a new accounts, billings and collections system as part of a larger core system transformation project. The successful candidate will need to work closely with a third-party software house to translate IT specifications for Aviva stakeholders. Whilst knowledge of IT language and systems is required, being able to liaise with business stakeholders to draw out business requirements is an important skill for the successful candidate to have. You will be working as part of BA team focussed on business requirement gathering across the following areas
- Documenting existing billings and collections requirements and processes in Aviva’s existing credit control systems.
- Working with third party software house SME’s and Aviva Finance team SME’s to translate existing requirements and processes to new billings and collections system.
- Documenting migrations requirements from legacy to new finance system
Your accountabilities will be:
- Definition of requirements/user stories with required stakeholder sign offs
- Work closely with third party IT partner to translate business requirements to IT technical specifications and ensure accuracy of same
- Lead and co-ordinate requirement workshops with business stakeholders including documentation of requirements and securing business sign off
- Engaging with key internal business support team e.g. Compliance, DPO, Legal, Risk etc
- Support technical requirements for the IT Development and Test teams
- Adhere to agreed QA and business deployment plan
- Support of testing and clarification of queries
- Management of issues and risks
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- experience of delivering change within General Insurance or Financial Services industry
- Strong analysis, design & solutioning experience to define business requirements & outcomes
- Stakeholder management experience across business, IT, and support functions e.g., Compliance, Finance
- Previous experience of working with third party IT vendors.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- A strong decision-making and prioritisation skillset, with ability to operate effectively under pressure in dealing with multiple customers and timelines
- Flexibility to work on multiple pieces of work at a time
- Demonstrate personal ownership/responsibility for work with thorough follow through to conclusion
- Ability to learn and up-skill quickly on customer and finance solutions
- Management of projects scope, delivery timeline and plans to deliver digital initiatives
- In addition to the above, experience working on accounts, billings and collections systems is advantageous (but not mandatory)
