As a Snr. Business Analyst you will be a key member of the Business Analysis & Reporting team, where you will be part of UnitedHealth Group's mission of helping people live healthier lives. You will be challenged to analyze, review, and forecast data for operational and business planning, supporting the Co-ordination of Benefits value stream within Non-Clinical Payment Integrity. You will build relationships with our key partners and will enable our operations partners to make key decisions and to drive continuous improvement. Primary Responsibilities of the Sr Business Analyst:
- Analyze, review, forecast and trend complex data, reviewing the analysis and interpretation of others' work
- Conduct and present variance analyses as required each month following month-end business close, explaining all significant variances
- Support analysis and interpretation of results for operational business reviews and planning
- Monitor performance, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of major variances
- Analyze key performance indicator trends for all operational areas including P&L
- Assist in establishing operational scorecards as well as appropriate business and/or client level targets based on analysis
- Develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research & analysis of data & business processes
- Produce and maintain financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
- Develop, support, and present ad-hoc client and operational reports
- Develops innovative approaches to achieve deliverables
- Support short- and long-term operational/strategic business activities through analysis
- Develops and documents complex business analysis and reporting requirements
- Supports multiple projects simultaneously
- Develops and implements effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
- Develops innovative approaches and is sought out as subject matter expert in their area
- Serves as a leader and mentor and reviews the work of others

Required Qualifications of the Sr Business Analyst:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, or related field or 8+ years of directly applicable Business / Financial Analysis experience in lieu of the bachelor’s degree
- Strong experience as a Business, Data, or Finance Analyst
- Proven experience working with relational databases & database structures (such as SQL, Oracle, or Teradata)
- Experience in analyzing business processes and workflows, and providing evaluations and benchmarks
- Experience in documenting business processes and generating creative solutioning
- Advanced Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
- Fast learner, analytical thinker, very detail oriented
- Excellent ability to communicate analyses including trends and opportunities to clients and the business both verbally and in writing
- Experience in a leadership, through people, project, or stakeholder leadership.
- Highly motivated, Creative and Innovative thinker
- Demonstrated ability to work with team members in a hands-on capacity
Preferred Qualifications of the Sr Business Analyst:
- Bachelor's Degree in related areas; MBA (or equivalent work experience)
- Intermediate to Advanced Tableau, Alteryx, or equivalent tool experience and aptitude for learning new BI systems
- High standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
- Highly motivated and driven individual with the ability to think creatively
- Demonstrated ability to work with team members in a hands-on capacity
- Healthcare industry experience, ideally with Co-ordination of Benefits knowledge
