We are currently recruiting an MDM Business Analyst within the Uniphar Group. This is a permanent position and an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to develop their career within a dynamic, fast paced environment at the centre of a growing business.
The MDM Business Analyst will help establish design into a reality within the xDM platform. As part of a project team, they are able to develop the technical solution within xDM to help realise business value. Understanding how to take a business requirement and turn this into a working solution is a must in this role. The MDM Business Analyst, at its core, is a problem resolution role - taking the business problems, articulated through requirements, and using the xDM software as a tool to be able to resolve these. This means being able to get to the root cause of a problem through root cause analysis and see this through design and build, through testing and into a live solution.
When not building new solutions, the xDM developer should be maintaining existing and previous xDM projects. This involves evaluating new release features and how these may impact such projects when the platform is upgraded, performing product enhancements and bug fixes. This business-as-usual work is in conjunction with project work and so being able to manage competing requests on their diary is a required skill.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ultimately responsible for realising business value through the development of solutions with the xDM platform.
- Build out projects/models within xDM as part of new solutions, driven by the Semarchy Product Owner
- Work closely with the Semarchy Administrator to ensure that the platform is always fit for purpose.
- Work closely with the Semarchy Product Owner to deliver a prioritized backlog.
- Ensure that all bugs and problems with existing xDM solutions are resolved in a timely manner.
- Work with Semarchy to escalate any product related bugs, problems, or enhancement requests.
- Advise data stewards on technology solutions that support the type of access the steward wants to provide.
- Support data management and change procedures.
- Providing testing support to the data stewards.
- Attending working councils and governance calls to discuss issue resolution prioritizations and status of issues.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Excellent PC skills, including Excel, Word & PowerPoint etc.
- Extremely competent with Microsoft Excel – formulas & macro’s etc
- Must have the ability to build 3rd normal form data models.
- Knowledge of SAP & MDM an advantage
- Experience of SQL programming language
- Has experience working collaboratively in project and/or software development teams.
- Must have experience in and demonstratable performance in software development best practices.
- Should have experience of working in a Data-Driven environment, ideally with experience of building data solutions.
- Should have experience working on integration projects were data flows between systems.
- Must have experience working in medium scale projects and navigating the dependencies inherent in such work.
- Should have experience of working on solutions in complex IT landscapes and Integration between platforms.
- Should have a grounding in data architecture to assist in the evaluation and creation of scalable data models.
- Experience working with software vendors to encourage positive and productive vendor relationships.
- Specific domain knowledge is desirable.
- Able to lead workshops if required.
- Effective communicator.
- Master Data knowledge and experience is desirable.
