Project Overview
Uniting is embarking on an exciting project to develop an integrated Quality, Risk, and Safety Solution. This initiative aims to enhance our capabilities in Risk Management, Action Management, Audit, Compliance Management, Safety Inspections, Positive Feedback and Complaints, and Hazard Management. The project will leverage Agile methodologies, including scrums, to deliver these capabilities effectively.
Position Overview
As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of this project. You will work closely with business stakeholders, the systems implementation partner, and the project team to ensure that user requirements are accurately captured, documented, and translated into actionable user stories. Your efforts will be crucial in driving the design, development, and testing phases of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop Facilitation: Lead and facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to elicit, refine, and document user stories that accurately reflect their needs and expectations.
- Requirements Documentation: Develop comprehensive, clear, and detailed user stories that can be utilized by the systems implementation partner to create design solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to understand their current processes, pain points, and future needs, ensuring that the solution aligns with business objectives.
- Communication: Provide clear and effective communication to stakeholders, project team members, and partners to ensure alignment and understanding of project goals and progress.
- Traceability and Testing: Ensure traceability of user stories throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to design, development, and testing, to ensure that the solution meets the specified requirements.
- Agile Methodology: Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to support the iterative development and continuous improvement of the solution.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the testing team to ensure that user stories are accurately translated into test cases and that the final product meets the quality standards expected by the business.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience as a Business Analyst in complex projects, ideally within the non-profit sector or similar environments.
- Workshop Facilitation: Strong experience in leading workshops and eliciting requirements from diverse stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to understand and analyse current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Agile Expertise: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly in running scrums and managing user stories in iterative development environments.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to understand and work within the constraints and capabilities of existing solutions to ensure that new developments are fit for purpose.
- Traceability: Strong skills in maintaining traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all user stories are aligned with business objectives and are testable.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in risk management, compliance, and safety-related projects.
- Experience working with systems implementation partners.
- Knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro or other Agile project management tools.
