About the role:
This newly created role is responsible for consulting, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders on Information Security technical requirements and controls to ensure a secure Genesis landscape. You will shape, own and lead Security Operations and build successful partnerships with project teams, partners and business unit personnel responsible for the delivery of customer facing and Internal systems, applications, and networks.
The core accountability is to drive the implementation of technical controls in line with the Genesis technical security standards, speaking technical language to technical staff and ensuring all systems are configured to the minimum-security standard. Other responsibilities will include;
- Provide technical consultancy and leadership into project teams ensuring designs and implementations are compliant to Genesis standards.
- Lead security incidents to resolution, working with partners, stakeholders and incident managers as required.
- Manage and drive projects to enhance ISO27001/VCSS-CSO maturity and adapt Genesis to an evolving threat landscape.
- Lead and own the Operational Security (SecOps) aspects of InfoSec including monitoring, managing operational staff, driving continuous improvement and security awareness simulations.
- Support and mentor the Information Security Analysts and backup the Technical Security Consultant - Operations, including security incidents, seeing them to resolution, working with partners, stakeholders and incident managers as required.
About you:
You will have a relevant Tertiary qualification in Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science or similar ideally with CISSP, CISSM, CCNP, or equivalent experience. Other key requirements will include;
- Extensive experience in Information Security
- Strong understanding of how to implement technical security controls across different technology sets.
- ISO 27001/2 implementation experience and a strong understanding of security protocols and cryptography
- Hands on IT engineering experience
