Wessex Water is looking for an IT Business Analyst to join our innovative, successful team.
We play an important role in the successful growth and expansion of the Wessex Water Group, across both our regulated and retail and commercial companies.
This role offers a hybrid of office and home working (the option to work part of your week from home becomes available after completion of an initial training period). You will need to be located within a commutable distance from our Claverton Down, Bath office as being able to work collaboratively with our business stakeholders and project teams is key to this role.
Representing the business analysis function, you will work closely with a range of business stakeholders to ensure the IT project team has all the analysis documents required to support the development and/or delivery of a solution that meets business objectives and enables business benefits to be realised.
Day-to-day, your responsibilities will include:
- collaborating with business stakeholders and evaluating their requests to determine feasibility for a range of change initiatives, including large IT projects, PowerApps, and Minor Changes
- eliciting, documenting, validating and prioritising complex business requirements (functional and non-functional) using a range of analysis tools and methods
- documenting “as is” and “to be” processes
- working collaboratively with the project team throughout the project lifecycle to ensure requirements are understood and delivered
- ensuring traceability of requirements from source to delivery
- supporting vendor selections as appropriate
- managing stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Due to the range of work, we are looking for someone who has experience working as an IT Business Analyst on various types of projects, products and programmes (applications and infrastructure) through the full lifecycle, using both waterfall and agile methodologies.
You will:
- have a strong worth ethic with an eye for detail, with the ability to handle complex information to translate into clear outputs
- be able to demonstrate a range of business analysis skills/methods that enable you to elicit, document and prioritise business processes and requirements (this must include; functional, non-functional, complex reporting, data and security)
- have excellent communication and collaboration skills and be comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels (business and IT, including QA & Testing, SA, and development teams)
- be great at multi-tasking to complete deliverables to a high standard while meeting tight deadlines
- have experience on contributing to software tender processes
- be very familiar with using standard Microsoft Office products, including Visio and DevOps
- possess specific business analysis qualifications, such as a BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or appropriate contributing modules - alternatively, you may have a business or IT-related degree.
You may also have systems/technical analysis or data analysis experience and business analysis experience on Microsoft Dynamics implementations.
