The Workers' Compensation Self-Insurance Business Analyst plays a critical role in managing and analysing self-insured workers' compensation programs. This position involves evaluating claims data, identifying trends, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance program efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Analyse workers' compensation claims data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarising findings and recommendations.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to state regulations and internal policies regarding self-insurance practices.
- Program Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of current self-insurance programs and suggest improvements for claims management and cost efficiency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with claims teams, legal teams, and finance departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of self-insurance policies and procedures.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members on data management systems and best practices in self-insurance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Statistics, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within workers' compensation or insurance sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) and reporting software.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with workers' compensation laws and self-insurance regulations.
