What is the opportunity?
The PMO & Projects team for RBC BlueBay is based in London and consists of a wide range of professionals covering PMO, project management and business analysis.
We work closely with all areas of the business including (but not limited to) Investment teams, Risk, Legal, Client and Regulatory Reporting, IT and Sales. Our remit includes projects, enhancements, integrations, and ad-hoc requests., which can range from process orientated items through to very technical changes.
This role is for a Business Analyst to join the team, reporting to the Head of Business Analysis.
What will you do?
- Analysis of Front office, Back Office, Regulatory and Data requirements.
- Produce key project documents (project scope and planning, business requirements, functional specifications, test cases, operating model, etc.). Adhere to all team defined Agile processes.
- Perform functional testing and support the business in user acceptance testing
- Coordinate and lead meetings / workshops
- Engagement with vendors and perform RFP/RFI assessments
- Stand in as scrum master as required including facilitating scrum ceremonies, sprint planning and supporting the team in problem solving, successful delivery and continuous improvement.
- From time to time providing project management capability on the projects being worked on (dependent on size).
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Strong experience of business analysis in a project context
- Highly desirable to have Fixed Income instrument, trade flow and other asset management domain knowledge, but other financial services experience also considered
- Must have worked closely with software delivery teams and confident in communicating with development teams
- Great interpersonal and communication skills, being able to liaise with a variety of business units and across all levels of seniority.
- Good technical understanding of IT systems/databases
- Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Visual articulation techniques to reach a varied and often senior audience.
- Good SQL skills
- Creative and pragmatic problem solving skills

- Adaptable to support business needs
- Useful to have experience working in an Agile delivery model
