The Opportunity:
You will play a vital role in working with the Urbis team to shape cities and communities for a better future by helping build and manage data solutions that provide valuable data insights for our internal and external customers. Urbis' clients value a strong evidence-based approach, and you will work with our business units to leverage the rich data sets that we work with.
As a Business analyst, you will continually drive business improvements in Urbis & Cistri through the analysis of current state and bridging the gap between internal clients, technology enabled process change and solution delivery. This role will be a part Data & Applications team and be an integral part of understanding and designing future solutions with a desire to reduce technical debt and streamline our application stack, leveraging our Data Lakehouse and our Generative AI platform and our Generative AI platform.
You Will:
- Recognise gaps in processes, identifying innovation and optimisation opportunities and driving maturity in ways of working;
- Collation of business requirements through process mapping to articulate the ‘as is' and illustrate the ‘to be' future state process for a project;
- Work with the Change Management to help with change process activities;
- Effectively gather and document requirements, designing business processes, aligning solution to business objectives and supporting the delivery of the change through the project lifecycle;
- Ensure strong communication channels are established and maintained across project streams, with business subject matter experts and with the vendor and business technology delivery teams;
- Being involved in the design or modification of business systems or IT systems;
- Interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand and document their problems and needs, conducting workshops and deep dives as required;
- Identify gaps and solving business problems, be part of designs technical solutions;
- Document the functional and, as needed technical design of the solutions;
- Interact with system architects and developers to ensure the system is properly implemented;
- Helping coordinate testing of solution system and working with Testing resources;
About you:
- Ability to lead and deliver technical, professional practice, or other improvement projects;
- Maintain and develop expert technical skills and product knowledge of relevance to company requirements;
- Process Mapping experience
- A strong understanding and application of key technology ‘best practice frameworks and principles' in relation to Change, Problem and Incident Management
- Can Identify opportunities to work across teams/business units to solve client issues;
- Successfully manage client priorities and expectations;
- Adapt when dealing with problems and changes to priorities;
- Challenge existing practices and/or viewpoints to achieve the best outcome;
- Engage with relevant professional and industry bodies to stay abreast of current practices and trends;
- Demonstrates technical excellence
- Flexible and innovative thinking when solving client problems;
- Brings a positive, encouraging attitude to own work and work relationships;
- Provides and receives feedback to support the development of team and self;
- Add value beyond clients' immediate requests;
- Follows up with clients during and after the delivery of services to ensure their needs have been met;
- Prioritise and manage the competing demands of multiple assignments and/or projects within agreed timeframe and budget; and
- Show commercial discipline and consistency through compliance with company policy and process and performance expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Equivalent experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a change, analyst, product manager or BA role.
- Prior experience in a startup or consultancy preferred
