ENVIRONMENT:
ANALYSE business needs, identify market trends, and shape the future of an investment platform of a dynamic Independent Asset Management Firm through research and collaboration as its next Business Analyst. You will gather and analyse Web Development requirements, refine user stories and business cases, research the competitive environment to originate product ideas while investigating and resolving discrepancies between Reg 28 monitoring and Reg 28 calculator outputs. Applicants will require a relevant BCom or related Degree, a Diploma in Business Analysis and 3+ years’ work experience as a Business Analyst in the investment platform (LISP) or Asset Management industry. You will also need strong mathematical ability to solve financial queries (IRR, performance calculations, WACs, etc.) with knowledge of the investment platform (LISP)/Asset Management industry & strong Excel and Data Analysis proficiency.
DUTIES:
Assist with requirements for Web Development –
- Gather and analyse Web Development requirements from various teams to enhance investment platform features.
- Work closely with Technology teams to refine user stories and business cases.
- Attend JAD sessions.
- Assist in Process Engineering of the to be process.
- Manage requirements through the SDLC to testing and implementation.
Assist with requirements for general product development –- Research the competitive environment to originate product ideas.
- Gather and document new product requirements.
- Maintenance of existing product.
Query Resolution & Issue Management –- Address queries from Sales Consultants and Advisor Liaison teams, covering:
- Investment Performance Metrics (IRR, asset allocation, performance etc.)
- Regulatory Reporting (Reg 28, TIC values)
General platform-related inquiries –- Troubleshoot web-related queries.
- Log and monitor functionality and user issues, ensuring resolution through production support and testing cycles.
Data & Reporting –- Run data queries and prepare management reports for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate to resolve data-related discrepancies.
- Provide structured investment data to external and internal consumers as required.
Regulatory Considerations & Platform Alignment ? - Assist with ensuring that new developments stand up to regulatory scrutiny.
- Assist with quarterly Reg 28 monitoring process and query resolution.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between Reg 28 monitoring and Reg 28 calculator outputs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –- BCom or related Degree.
- Diploma in Business Analysis.
Experience/Skills –- 3+ Years of experience as a Business Analyst in the investment platform (LISP) or Asset Management industry.
- Strong mathematical ability to solve financial queries (IRR, performance calculations, WACs, etc.).
- Knowledge of the investment platform (LISP)/Asset Management industry.
- Strong Excel and Data Analysis proficiency is required.
- Knowledge of investment products and the ability to solve complex financial queries.
- Experience with issue tracking, resolution processes, and testing.
Advantageous –- Morningstar Direct experience.
