Business Analyst

About the role

You will be a valued member of the Business Analysis team, working with a dedicated team of project and programme managers, partnering with a range of senior staff and expert personnel from all areas of the University to understand business needs, shape new projects and support in their delivery. Specifically, the role will involve:

- Capturing requirements from varied sources and stakeholders, with a strong focus on understanding and expressing business objectives and potential benefits.
- Analysis of supporting data and reference material to gather context and help explore options.
- Working with product owners, solution architects and subject matter experts to develop and evaluate innovative and effective solutions.
- Designing, leading, and facilitating workshops and focus groups while confidently engaging with, and influencing stakeholders.
- Drafting reports and advising senior stakeholders to explain complex ideas and issues clearly and support accurate decision-making.
- Providing significant input to business cases and benefits realisation plans to measure and confirm the value of investments.

This is a full-time position with an expected end date of 29th July 2026, which may be extended subject to business review.

About you

To succeed in the role, you will:

- Have sound knowledge of business analysis tools and methods with experience of applying them in a large, complex organisation.
- Be proficient at engaging with and influencing a range of stakeholders, including at a senior level.
- Have skills and experience in business process mapping, using appropriate techniques.
- Enjoy working in a highly motivated, constantly evolving team of professional colleagues.

The Strategic Projects Office (SPO) provides leadership and co-ordination for major change initiatives across the University, through project, programme portfolio and change management.
