Our Opportunity:
The Business Analysis Practice Lead is a key member of the Enterprise Project Services team within the Transformation & Practice pillar. This role is divided equally between two main responsibilities: building a strong Enterprise Business Analysis practice with a focus on people leadership, while actively delivering projects for Australian Unity based on pipeline requirements.
The activities of the Practice Lead can be categorised into three main areas: managing project allocation and workforce management, initiating community of practice initiatives to establish standards and drive upskilling, and individual development, performance, and job satisfaction management across 20 direct reports.
Key accountabilities include:
- Manage a flexing work force of approximately 20 Business Analysts staff, across permanent staff, fixed term and contingent workers
- Recruiting, hiring, developing employees in collaboration project and standing team sponsors
- Strategic planning for future workforce needs aligned to Platform roadmaps
- Coordinate allocation of BAs across Standing Teams and Projects in line with strategic and operational priorities
- Optimise workforce in accordance with strategic workforce levers and targets
- Supporting projects/standing teams in developing project documentation such as: Business cases, project briefs, business requirement documentation, process maps, facilitating workshops
About You:
To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, enabling effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven leadership skills with a focus on team motivation, mentorship, and performance improvement
- Strong background in stakeholder management, with the capability to collaborate with and influence key stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Extensive experience working within business and IT domains as a Senior Business Analyst and/or Product Owner
- Use of formal documentation methodologies, including UML, BPM, Use Cases, and User Stories
- A continuous improvement mindset, actively championing a culture of change and innovation
- Familiarity with human-centered design concepts, Lean process methodologies, and Six Sigma is highly regarded
