About Flowmotion
We are a software development consultancy based in Clifton Moor, York, specialising in creation and implementation of applications developed within a large application development platform.
Due to the high cost of the platform itself, all of our clients are large organisations, such as multi-nationals, government and military.
All of our employees work full-time on-premise in our office on Clifton Moor.
We have some large projects in the pipeline which we will not have the capacity to manage, so continue to expand our team on Clifton Moor.
Our previous clients
Most of our work to date has been for central government or public sector bodies:
Emergency Services Network (ESN), Home Office, Foreign Office (FCDO), HMRC, Police Digital Service (PDS), University of Hull, University of Warwick, Government Property Agency (GPA) and NHS England.
We are also starting to gain traction within large, multi-national private sector orgs.
About the role
On premise (office-based), full-time, Monday-Friday.
You must be eligible for British government SC level security clearance (you will be required to apply). Key eligibility requirements include; 5 years recent, full-time UK residency, no criminal record, and no travel to UK government defined countries of concern.
This is a consultant role, where you will be required to adapt to client and project needs. While there are usual project patterns, there aren’t necessarily any fixed ways of working, so you must be highly adaptable to changing environments.
The role is technical in nature, although you will only need to understand the normal platform functionality (we will provide training), the product being developed, technical concepts and very high-level technical processes, which we will teach you on the job. You must have a good aptitude for following technical discussions, even if you don’t understand the detail.
The projects will vary hugely, and would suit somebody who enjoys constant learning and upskilling to address new requirements on a regular basis.
Our specialism is in a particular app development platform, so we have no focus on any specific industry or application type, meaning you will be required to quickly get to grips with new processes, some of which are ultra-niche, on a regular basis.
It is likely that you will be required to manage two to three projects (unless there is a key project that requires your full attention) at any one time.
