As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to identify and drive projects to deliver processes and improvement initiatives. Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst:
This position will be responsible for driving initiatives for Optum Coordination of Benefits (COB), collaborating with teams across COB pre-pay, Data Mining Post-Pay COB/Recovery team and Issue Management for opportunity identification, capability assessment within Optum and externally to increase Optum COB Market share and improve process efficiencies.
The scope of these activities is across all main lines of business (E&I, M&R and C&S) working with other value streams (in particular Data Mining) as part of an overall business alignment and improvement programme which is a priority for the Payment Integrity Non-Clinical business.
This role will focus on a number of main activity types including: a. End to end process reviews to analyse the process including controls, risks and opportunities
b. Process redesign activities to refine and simplify existing processes to drive efficiencies
c. Supporting the development and implementation of new processes, systems or analytics, to deliver additional medical cost savings or productivity efficiencies.
d. Collaborate with Growth and Exploratory team and partners to identify growth opportunities and performance enhancements within the COB domain.
- Drive projects to delivery including conducting all needed research, problem solving and requirements-gathering activities with business and technical stakeholders to identify, collect and document specific business requirements (i.e., business, functional and non-functional).
- Communicate ongoing updates to all stakeholders to ensure understanding of and alignment with project status/changes. Engage with appropriate stakeholders to get support or clarity to requirements.
- Support ongoing monitoring and adjustment of project scope/timelines/dependencies
- Develop and/or contribute to training programs to support implementation of the solution
- Ensure that identified solutions meet business requirements for all applicable stakeholders (e.g., traceability)

Required Qualifications of the Senior Business Analyst:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience of health care experience/financial services industry (or equivalent work experience)
- Business Analysis or project focused experience including gathering and documenting business requirements
- Experience in analysis and mapping of business processes, including ability to translate business requirements and acumen to a technical audience
- Experience in analyzing large operational and/or financial data sets to identify and define actionable insights
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, SQL
- Strong presentation skills and professional communication style (verbal and written), including Stakeholder management
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, priorities, project and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to delivery quality results
Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Business Analyst:
- Previous experience in Claims, COB (Coordination of Benefits), Data Mining or Appeals & Grievances.
- Experience of project implementation considering a global operations teams and the related implications (system and business access and approvals, legal and data protection regulations and restrictions, etc.). Experience with Training and process documentation
- Project Management or Operation Excellence Experience, including Structure Problem solving, Green / Black belt qualifications
