The Role:
As the Business Analyst Lead, you will be part of LIC's Enterprise Portfolio Management (EPM) team within the Transformation Office, reporting to the Business Analysis Practice Lead. EPM plays a critical role in overseeing and facilitating the delivery of strategic initiatives, including our digital roadmap, and ensuring that change is implemented effectively and at the right pace for our business.
Your primary focus will be on leading and supporting a team of Business Analysts in delivering high-quality products and systems, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring that LIC's business goals are met. You will provide expert mentoring, coaching, and guidance to your team while also maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure true value delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of Business Analysts, fostering a high-performance culture and driving excellence within the team.
- Collaborate with the Business Analysis Practice Lead and other BA Leads to shape team strategy, prioritize resources, and drive best practice.
- Act as an escalation point for your team, resolving issues and ensuring alignment with LIC roadmaps, systems, and products.
- Work in an advisory capacity, guiding Business Analysts in your assigned business areas to deliver exceptional products for internal and external customers.
- Maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Promote and balance the adoption of agile and lean methodologies with traditional approaches, ensuring high-quality deliverables across your assigned areas.
- Perform hands-on business analysis work, including requirements gathering, solution design, technology inceptions and stakeholder validation.
- Contribute to the growth and value of the Business Analysis Centre of Excellence by driving continuous improvement and innovation in BA practices.
About You
This role combines strong leadership with a passion for developing others, enabling a high-performing team while also working closely with our Business Analysis Practice Lead to support strategy, resource prioritisation, and team decisions.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- Solid experience as a Senior Business Analyst, with proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Strong understanding of business analysis techniques, tools, and methods, with the ability to balance agile practices with traditional approaches.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to drive performance and productivity improvements while maintaining high standards within a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a technology or business discipline.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and passionate about continuous improvement.
