About the Role
As a Business Analyst, you will work at the heart of a data-driven transformation, helping the business make smarter, faster decisions through meaningful insight. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to gather requirements, interpret asset-driven data, and deliver Business Intelligence solutions that add real value.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning complexity into clarity – someone with a passion for data, strong analytical skills, and the confidence to communicate insights to a wide range of audiences.
As a Business Analyst, you will:
- Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritise reporting and data requirements
- Act as a key link between operational teams and BI developers, ensuring solutions are accurate, relevant, and impactful
- Analyse and interpret complex asset and operational data (e.g. infrastructure, field, or engineering data) to support smarter decisions
- Build clear and contextualised visualisations and reports using Power BI or similar tools
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation through data-driven insights
- Promote the use of trusted data sources and consistent business terminology across the organisation
- Translate business needs into user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within a data-rich or asset-heavy environment (e.g. energy, renewables, utilities, infrastructure, logistics)
- Demonstrable experience delivering solutions in Business Intelligence projects
- Experience working with and interpreting asset data
- A strong understanding of data quality and experience standardising complex data sets
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to present data-driven insights and visualisations in a way that makes sense to business users
