The Senior Business Analyst plays a vital role in the interdisciplinary Agile Scrum Team. Working closely with the Product Owner, the Senior Business Analyst evaluates business needs and desired outcomes, gathers requirements from stakeholders and customers, defines features, and crafts comprehensive user stories to maintain a robust Product Backlog. Emphasizing strategic product development, the Senior Business Analyst empowers the scrum team to deliver business value through technology while advocating for Agile/Scrum best practices. Being proactive, fostering relationships, and collaborating with both business and technology in a dynamic environment are essential attributes for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with the Product Owner to develop strategic initiatives, establish the product roadmap, and prioritize features in line with business goals.
- Leads requirements gathering efforts with business partners and stakeholders by conducting interviews and research, and contributes technical product expertise to key business discussions.
- Creates project documentation, including process flows, wireframes, and various other artifacts.
- Translates intricate business requirements into clear, detailed user stories with measurable acceptance criteria.
- Conducts research and assesses potential solutions for identified business challenges.
- Collaborates with the Product Owner to set objectives for product development and define metrics for success evaluation.
- Keeps a well-organized product backlog of prioritized user stories, accommodating changing requirements and adjusting priorities as necessary.
- Supports the Product Owner by taking on assigned tasks and helping to identify and address project impacts and dependencies.
- Engages in UX design sessions, discussions, and usability testing as needed.
- Works alongside the Product Owner to facilitate backlog refinement sessions.
- Participates actively in all scrum ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint reviews and demos, release and sprint planning, and team retrospectives.
- Provides support for QA and UAT testing as necessary, utilizing Azure DevOps for test tracking.
- Collaborates with the Product Owner and team to plan and implement project releases on demand.
- Works with organizational readiness on the strategies for implementation, rollout, user adoption, and support.
- Sets professional development goals and strives to continuously enhance understanding of systems, products, and the industry.
- Collaborates with team members to deepen knowledge of agile/scrum methodologies, apply best practices, and foster continuous improvement.
- Takes part in training opportunities and engages in the monthly BA Community of Practice (CoP).
- Approaches challenges with a growth mindset, contributing to solutions and driving business outcomes.
- Ensures timely and accurate updates to time and project tracking systems as required.
- Aids with additional tasks and project deliverables as needed.
- Takes responsibility for the protection, security, and proper management of all confidential data held by the organization to prevent unauthorized access, improper transmission, or unapproved disclosure that could harm the organization or its clients.
PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- A Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role with demonstrated success in role.
- A Minimum 5 years of retirement industry or financial services experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proven ability to optimally balance multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Experience with and interest in agile and scrum.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using common PC applications including SQL and MS Office.
