Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll collaborate across two product teams in the web and mobile space. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in influencing the strategic direction of our products, using your analytical expertise and customer-focused mindset. You will work collaboratively to elicit, analyze, and validate business requirements, ensuring solutions align with stakeholder needs. As both a leader and mentor, you'll champion best practices, provide guidance to junior analysts, and contribute to a center of excellence for business analysis.

Key responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain relationships with University stakeholders.
- Engage actively to understand business challenges and align processes with strategic goals.
- Lead stakeholder consultations to capture detailed requirements and deliver future process models.
- Facilitate workshops, presentations, and large meetings with senior stakeholders.
- Analyze and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Develop artifacts for funding requests, business cases, and change requests.
- Lead the interpretation of user needs into actionable solutions for development teams.
- Champion Agile practices in sprint planning and backlog prioritization.
- Demonstrate and embed the University's values in your work and interactions.
- Respect and support te reo Māori, tikanga, and the University's cultural strategies.
- Contribute to health, safety, and sustainability initiatives.
Mōu | Who You Are
We're seeking a seasoned Senior Business Analyst with a passion for technology and a knack for building strong relationships. Ideally, you will bring:
- A Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
- A proven track record in business analysis within IT environments, with approximately 10 years of experience being a strong foundation.
- Confidence in working closely with technical teams and translating complex concepts into actionable solutions.
- Skilled in gathering requirements, conducting gap analyses, and mapping out data and processes.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and comfort facilitating workshops with diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional ability to document, organize, and communicate clearly and effectively.
- A desire to guide and support others, including mentoring junior team members and fostering growth.
- An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
