Business Analyst
£50,000 - £53,000 + benefits
Up to 12 months (paternity cover role)
Full-time (35 hours per week)

The role
As a Business Analyst, you'll act as a bridge between the Information Technology team and the wider business. You'll work on the larger digital and technology projects at the CIPD and you'll be responsible for performing business process analysis, managing business requirements and overseeing the testing and user acceptance of final solutions as appropriate.
What you'll be doing
- Gathering, identifying and documenting business requirements – both
functional and non-functional.
- Explaining technical jargon to non-technical/business teams.
- Investigating business problems and opportunities using root cause analysis.
- Mapping and re-engineering business processes.
- Ensuring solutions are user tested and follow UX and accessibility best practice whenever viable.
- Constructing simple data models under the guidance of the data quality manager and documenting project data requirements.
- Facilitating group workshops and meetings.
- Assisting with integration and user acceptance testing.
- Supporting the development of training and implementation materials.
- Building strong relationships across the business and active stakeholder management.
- Taking a lead role in supporting and developing business analysis as a discipline at the CIPD, developing business analysis best practices and standards.
What you'll need to be successful
- Certified at, or evidence of working towards, BCS Practitioner level, IIBA Senior level, or equivalent
- Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
- Experience of managing business requirements throughout their lifecycle
- Experience or significant knowledge of defining and mapping business both as-is and to-be processes/workflows and applying a range of process re-engineering tools and techniques demonstrating sound business justification
- Good knowledge of Agile and more traditional project approaches
- Good knowledge of data analysis concepts
- Attention to detail is essential along with good business awareness, project management, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
