Location Aberdeen – It should be noted that the job-holder will be required to regularly visit the Grangemouth office (for individual days)
This is an exciting role for individuals seeking to broaden / deepen their understanding of business in the energy sector, within an international conglomerate.
This role presents an opportunity to make a material contribution to FPS through:
- Provision of financial and economic analysis in support of business development opportunities, commercial optimisation and delivering the strategy.
- Timely and accurate data and analysis to support engagement and negotiation with key internal and external stakeholders and regulator (NSTA) including attending customer and stakeholder meetings.
This role places the job-holder in a key position of working with the FPS Business Director, FPS Business Manager and the FPS Commercial Advisors to monitor and grow the FPS Business. The business analyst will also be expected to establish close and trusted relations with other key internal functional personnel at various levels in the organisation in addition to gaining exposure to external relationships via customer and counterparty meetings.
Economic Analysis
- Perform economic analysis for the FPS Commercial Team. Examples include: Providing analytical input for standard reporting processes, investigating different commercial options for fields and modelling business opportunities
Planning and Performance Management
- Support business development studies and negotiations about expansions of the scope and/or spread of the FPS business.
- Undertake competitive analysis of other infrastructure systems and North Sea entrants
Market Analysis
- Provide a monthly overview of the energy markets for the Business Director
- Maintain awareness of industry activity in support of other key elements of the role
Requirements
- Business Degree
- Ability to analyse, interpret and clearly communicate business information
- Good IT skills, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to influence others using communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities
It would be great if you have:
- An interest in energy and net zero
- The ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Advanced Excel user and comfortable with large data sets
