We're seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Sr. Business Analyst with a background in economics/finance and legal studies (or paralegal experience). This role is ideal for those with experience as a (Sr.) Analyst at a consulting firm or VC/private equity fund. We're seeking combined expertise in business and law, supporting our commercial and legal efforts.
Full-time, on-site (Menlo Park, CA) preferred. Open to discussing remote or hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Agreement Review:
- Review and redline edits for legal agreements, such as NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) and MTAs (Material Transfer Agreements).
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and basic legal standards
Document Drafting:
- Draft documents and proposals outlining partnership scope, terms, and agreements for potential and existing partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure business and legal alignment in all documentation.
Legal Support:
- Collaborate with the company’s external legal advisors, providing administrative support for legal work streams.
- Assist in managing internal legal workflows to streamline processes for contract review, regulatory filings, and compliance.
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research for new products and services, analyzing customer demand and industry trends.
- Translate prospective customer requirements into technical or business specifications for product development and market positioning.
Partner Identification & Liaison:
- Identify potential partners, including toll manufacturers and key suppliers.
- Vet partners and facilitate initial communications, preparing them for introduction to the management team.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with commercial, legal, and operational teams to support the execution of key initiatives.
- Participate in project meetings and provide insights based on analysis and research.
- Assist the CEO in other relevant projects.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Experience: minimally 2 years experience as (Sr.) Analyst at a consulting firm or VC/PE fund, with a combined expertise in paralegal and finance.
- Knowledge of legal agreements such as NDAs and MTAs, and can perform legal diligence.
- Good understanding of financials/economics.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Preferred ability to travel to meet potential partners domestically and internationally.
