B30 Analyst, Business Strategy & Planning
This is a dynamic Business Planning Analyst role that will be responsible for supporting the card issuing business growth by attaining stretch targets and initiatives through strategic planning and execution of key initiatives. This role will provide the individual with wide exposure to a variety of business projects and to collaborate across internal stakeholders within the card issuing business, as well as across lines of business and functional groups within American Express.

Job Description
- Support the card issuing leadership team in strategic planning and execution at the organizational level, working closely with key decision makers of the organization to accurately project business performance and investments based on current trends, risks and opportunities
Perform complex data and business analyses, including competitor mapping and industry tracking, to develop business plans, as well as identify recommendations and insights
Provide project-based decision support, financial planning, investment optimization, as well as effective tracking and reporting of key deliverables
Serve as a key contact for the Central IO Planning & Forecasting team while driving the business forecasting and investment optimization processes
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing the budget for card issuing team, working with budget owners across the team to ensure planned investments are optimized
Prepare presentations and reporting for senior leaders and local leadership team
Support and/or lead internal communication events, such as townhalls and business updates
Develop, manage, and drive continual improvement on business continuity and resiliency plans through scenario planning exercises with Business and Operational Excellence to mitigate the impact of disruptions to operations
Collaborate with stakeholders in the identification, prioritization and documentation of critical business functions through the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) process.
Qualifications
- Minimum university bachelor's degree
At least 3-4 years of working experience in the Singapore Card industry
Highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical mindset
Financial education or experience preferred, along with a strong grounding in governance and business processes
Data management, analytics and visualization experience preferred (Advanced Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau)
Attention to detail with ability to evaluate “bigger picture” plans and “on the ground” implementations
Self-motivated and driven with strong sense of personal accountability
Ability to demonstrate outstanding judgment and flexibility, identifying and reacting to critical issues in a timely manner
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Assertive and proactive personality, with exceptional interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communications skills necessary to work effectively with key stakeholders as well as to understand key business issues and concerns from multiple perspectives.
Strong people collaboration in working with multifunctional teams
Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently; effective at prioritizing multiple work-streams and meeting tight deadlines.
