Job Title: Business Analyst (12 months contract)

The Opportunity:
Business Analyst serves as a liaison between the Business and IT to work on a wide variety of business improvement and change initiatives for General Insurance business, provide solutions to the business system needs, and covering a range of topics from new product / platform launches, process simplification, solution troubleshoot, whilst ensuring compliance on the SDLC process.
Working within our Business Transformation team, you will have an opportunity to further develop your technical and analytical skillset, working with like-minded colleagues in a supportive environment to build our collective change delivery capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the necessary confidence and technical knowledge to be able to investigate and resolve technical queries, and address the solution design needs from your fellow colleagues and stakeholders
- Perform analysis across both systems and business processes to establish a good and aligned understanding the root cause of any open issues / underlying requirement
- Develop use case, and option-impact assessment to determine and recommend the best solution to adopt across our core insurance, workflow, data and automation platforms
- Elicit and document clear business requirements, ensuring the needs of both internal and external parties are reconciled
- Contribute to the design of systems, preparing use cases, functional / interface specifications, and other design artefacts
- Work alongside third-party providers to ensure the scoped solution fully meets the business need and achieve the envisaged benefits
- Perform peer reviews for project artefacts to ensure specified standards are attained
- Provide support for testing, implementation, and training activities to ensure the seamless delivery of change
- Share experience and develop best practices along with your peers locally and regionally to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the department and grow your own skillset

Qualifications, skills and experience:
- 2 – 5 years of hands-on experience in the delivery of Business Analysis artefacts (eg as-is analysis, use case, process design, functional specification, UAT, etc.) on business and IT change projects, preferably in the General or commercial insurance background.
- Intermediate working knowledge of SQL is a must, preferably in Oracle PL/SQL. Experience working with relational databases will be valued.
- Curious and open minded to develop technical and soft skills to become an all rounded Business Analyst and Project Manager
- Self starter and pay attention to details
- Experience in the use of data analytics and automation platforms preferred but not essential
