As a team, we leverage Agile ways of working to help our team develop their skills while also making sure our team is focusing on solving the most complex problems for both our customers and team.
What you'll do
The purpose of the wiqNZ team is to unlock the power of data to imagine retail, which contributes to making Kiwis’ lives a little better every day.
Analytics and Insights are critical to achieving the overall success of our business and this opportunity is key to driving our vision to be a leading, world class, data-savvy retailer. Reporting to the Analytics Manager, this hands-on but also relationship driven role will require strong technical skills across the delivery of data, analytics and insights as well as stakeholder engagement and management in order to facilitate the best business decisions for Woolworths NZ.
This is a great opportunity to really drive the “So what” insights and lead to decisions in support of the business and its key priorities. Alongside talented peers, you will also have the opportunity to work with an acclaimed leader in the Analytics and Insights space who will inspire you and provide great mentoring and career development opportunities. You will also gain great exposure to advanced analytics methodologies and retail analytics.
As a a Business Insights Analyst you will:
Provide information and insight on customer shopping behaviour, channel and market movements.
Source data from relevant systems (e.g. SQL Servers, Data Lakes, SAP, Teradata) for analytical needs
Work with complicated data sets (eg: commercial, customers, market, stock, availability, property and macro trend), extract, integrate and use them to create intuitive reports, analytics, visualisation tools or presentations.
Working closely with the cross functional analytics team and business stakeholders on a variety of analytics projects
Enable the development and execution of our business strategy
Data storytelling
Identify and highlight business opportunities based on performance trends
Deliver quality outcomes
Support and drive operational efficiency activities
What you'll bring
You will be a creative thinker, being able to find patterns, correlations and trends to drive business insights. You could even have come from a Data Engineering background with strong Technical capabilities across tools such as: SQL, Python, Alteryx,Tableau, Excel and Google Analytics are needed along with a confident demeanour and the ability to present confidently to key stakeholders across the group. Experience working in a fast pace environment ideally FMCG would be a major advantage.
