Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in understanding business needs, translating them into detailed functional and non-functional requirements, and collaborating with technical teams to ensure successful project delivery. The role involves creating Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), use cases, and functional test plans, while providing support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and end-user training.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirement Gathering : Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, translating them into clear and actionable items.
- Define Functional/Non-Functional Requirements : Create comprehensive requirements that distinguish what the system should do (functional) from how it should perform (non-functional), ensuring a clear understanding of project scope and objectives.
- Scoping and Timeline : Work with project managers to define project scope and develop realistic timelines. Ensure that project objectives align with business goals, and coordinate with stakeholders to manage expectations.
- Documentation : Develop business requirement documents (BRDs) and functional specifications documents (FSD). Create detailed use cases using business analysis tools such as UML and/or BPMN modelling to illustrate system interactions and use these documents to guide development and testing.
- Testing and Quality Assurance : Design comprehensive test cases that outline test scenarios and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure thorough testing. Provide support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that the product fulfils the business requirements.
- End-User Training : Develop user guides and training materials to facilitate end-user training. Conduct training sessions as needed to ensure successful adoption of new systems.
Requirements
- Educational Background : Graduate diploma or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience : Minimally 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT projects, with proven expertise in requirement gathering, business requirements document and functional specification document creation, and UAT support. A reference sample of past documentation of these documents may be requested.
- Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in use case development and functional and non-functional test case creation[FA1] [MS2]. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies. Familiarity with industry-standard business analysis tools and techniques.
- Additional Qualities : Experience on CMS platforms like Sitecore/AEM/Drupal/Sitefinity etc. are preferred.
