As a core team member of the Asia Pacific M&A and Business Development team, this role works closely with senior commercial business leaders on a global and regional level functioning as a partner with commercial, operational and corporate service functions to support growth and value-creation. We improve the effectiveness of capital allocation, decision-making and execution in alignment with ADM's strategy. This includes Mergers & Acquisitions, joint-ventures, divestures, capital expenditure for organic growth initiatives, cost position improvement projects and/or business improvement measures.
The selected candidate will support the company's business divisions - Ag. Services & Oilseeds, Carbohydrate Solutions and Nutrition, and the regional corporate leadership in achieving their strategic growth targets.

Your Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director M&A and Business Development Asia Pacific based in Singapore, you will have, amongst others, the following responsibilities:
- Support the development of the scoping for M&A projects, including the preparation of financial models and presentation materials required to communicate the commercial and financial business case and strategic rationale to executive management
- Build the financial models required and provide financial modelling, valuation and returns analysis, including scenario evaluation
- Prepare executive summaries, company and sector presentations
- Co-ordinate and update key dashboards for reporting internally
- Perform both internal and external strategic analyses to become better informed about current business conditions and conduct competitive landscaping studies. Collect, synthesize and analyze market and company data from different sources. Identify and interpret market trends, financial data and competitor analyses
- Support business units and other regions in general market/ joint research and analysis as required
- Actively participate in M&A process (screening and origination, analysis, due diligence, planning and pre-close)
- In liaison with the commercial teams, build, track and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities
- Partner with the Global PMO team to support leading all due diligence activities across all primary functional areas such as Finance, IT, HR, Commercial, Operations, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, etc.
- Engage and liaise with third party service providers, as required, such as consultants, accounting firms, investment banks, law firms
- Perform look-back reviews on previous projects
- Partner with the BU and Regional BD teams to develop and review the business cases for capital expenditures for growth and efficiency initiatives across all business units
- Other ad-hoc activities, as required
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or commerce (a master's degree is a plus)
- Ideally 2-3 years’ experience in a business development, finance or commercial role in a multi-national corporation, an investment bank, private equity firm, boutique advisory or Big 4. International experience is a plus. Fresh graduates with outstanding academics will also be considered
- Strong financial modelling and financial analysis/financial statement dissection skills
- Strong literacy in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) is essential
- Strong analytical abilities preferably with advanced knowledge of corporate financial and valuation theory. Superlative attention to detail required
