A snapshot of your key responsibilities as Business Analyst would be:
- Lead requirements gathering workshops with the client and assist in defining the final solution in order to elicit and prioritise requirements
- Review and editing of requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solutions
- Development of functional specifications and system design specifications
- Ensure consistency and traceability between user requirements, functional specifications and testing & validation, utilising Requirements Traceability Matrices and Functional Designs
- Work closely with technical team during the implementation phases to ensure common understanding, agreement and effective implementation of projects. Validate solution delivered and ensure it is fit for business purpose
- Develop scenarios for User Acceptance Testing and facilitate end user testing
- Develop and execute test cases as required - smoke testing, SIT testing, shift left UAT
- Identification, tracking, and reporting of test defects and resolution in a timely manner
- Support UAT during all phases of testing to ensure requirements as detailed in the specification document have been delivered and are ready for release
- Develop relationships with client stakeholders by being proactive, displaying a thorough understanding of the business, and providing timely and accurate information through impeccable written and oral communication
- Use data modelling practices to analyse your findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes
- Provide support to functions by gathering and analysing data in the establishment and/or maintenance of business requirements, processes, procedures and policies
- Identification and analysis of problems and potential improvements, and proposal and implementation of solutions
- Perform data analysis in support of project delivery
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a Business Analysis role
- Excellent technical writing skills - must be able to accurately document information
- Problem solving skills - must be able to facilitate a shared understanding of a problem, and propose possible solutions
- Documentation skills - must be able to create clear, accurate and concise documentation
- Comprehensive business analysis experience gathering/analysing/testing requirements
- Experience in Waterfall/Agile delivery methodologies
- Certification in Business Analysis
- Demonstrable experience in the Utilities Industry or equivalent
- Strong MS Excel skills required (complex formulas, pivot tables, understanding of macros) and strong data manipulation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
- Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment at all times
- Comprehensive experience in the preparation of process design workshops and documents
- Comprehensive experience in the preparation of functional design documents and test scripts
- Strong experience in use of data modelling techniques and tools
