We are seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to join our team, with an emphasis on operational projects, particularly HSE enhancements and evaluating the utilisation of existing Oil and Gas toolsets. The role will involve projects focused on barrier management, cumulative risk assessment, emissions reviews, and the evaluation of requirements and solutions for a new tool.
As a Business Analyst, you will work at the heart of a data-driven transformation, helping the business make smarter, faster decisions through meaningful insight. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to gather requirements, interpret asset-driven data, and deliver Business Intelligence solutions that add real value.
This role will be based in Aberdeen city centre, Scotland, and be full-time onsite.
As a Business Analyst, you will:
- Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritise reporting and data requirements, with the aim of driving improvements across a range of departments and toolsets
- Support the delivery of process improvement initiatives across multiple project streams
- Analyse and interpret complex asset and operational data (e.g. infrastructure, field, or engineering data) to support smarter decisions within HSE and other departments
- Build clear and contextualised visualisations and reports using Power BI or similar tools
- Translate complex operational workflows into clear, visual documentation that supports implementation and improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation through data-driven insights
- Promote the use of trusted data sources and consistent business terminology across the organisation
- Translate business needs into user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within an operational, data-rich or asset-heavy environment (e.g. energy, renewables, utilities, infrastructure)
- Ability to present data-driven insights and visualisations in a way that makes sense to business users
- Strong stakeholder management experience – able to build trust, ask the right questions, and challenge assumptions where necessary
- Strong understanding of data quality and experience standardising complex data sets
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to bring together SMEs, stakeholders, and technical teams to define current and future states
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
